Alan Silverstein, Fall 2002:

It said in the 2002 FAQs that WFRites should receive their pay-prorated share of any CPB issued after their final, partial half-fiscal-year. For 2H2002 my payout was in fact mailed to the home address as a check, not directed deposited, and sent at the same time CPBs were issued to current employees.

Alan Silverstein, Jan 2003:

I learned from my case handler at CDLE (Colorado Department of Labor and Employment) that the CPB was "earned" prior to termination and thus does not count against Unemployment Insurance (UI), at least according to my particular case handler. There seems to be some room for human error/judgement here...

HPAA email group, Oct 2006:

The CPB program is now an annual (twelve month) program to align with HP's fiscal year. The 2006 program ran from November 1, 2005 to October 31, 2006. So for FY'06, if a payout is warranted, it occurs in the December 2006 timeframe. A check is mailed directly to your address on record on the distribution day Typically, the CPB payout, if any, is made to an employee:

  • who is active on the last day of the performance period;
  • on an LOA that started during the performance period;
  • on disability that started during the performance period;
  • who has retired during the performance period;
  • placed on WFR during the performance period; or
  • who died during the performance period.
