There are several ways to use HPAA for personal and professional networking:

  • List yourself in the Alumni Directory. Behind Yahoo Groups security; available only to HPAA members. Although you completed a questionnaire to join, you are not automatically added to the Alumni Directory; you control your information. So that other members can find you, please add yourself.
  • Search the Alumni Directory. Behind Yahoo Groups security; available only to HPAA members. Find HP alumni at a company of interest or locate a former co-worker. The Alumni Directory lists several thousand HP alumni. It includes contact information for HPAA members who have listed themselves – and company information for prominent HP alumni. If you are unable to locate any contacts in the directory, post a contact request on the HPAA's General Discussion forum.
  • Join LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a professional networking tool. You control the information in your profile; you control how you make your contacts visible to others in your network; you control your openness to unsolicited contacts. All initial contacts are through LinkedIn – your email address is not exposed to anyone until you choose to do so.
  • Join the HP Alumni group on LinkedIn. Available only to HPAA members. You set whether or not HPAA members can contact you directly. You choose whether or not to display the HPAA logo on your profile to non-HPAA members. The process is not automatic – you must apply via our site to join the HPAA group on LinkedIn.
  • Find a local or divisional alumni group. There are dozens of local and divisional HP alumni clubs, forums, and sites operated by groups independent of the HPAA. Some post jobs; some have events such as parties or picnics; some have discussion forums or email lists; some have regular meetups.
